What event aerial coverage captures
Ground cameras get the faces and the details. What they can't get is how big the crowd really was, how the venue laid out, or how the whole site transformed over a day. From the air the event reads as one scene: the full guest count in a single frame, the sweep of an outdoor ceremony, a festival footprint at dusk. Sometimes the conditions hand you a gift, like fog burning off a stadium lot at sunrise, and that becomes the one shot everybody remembers.
That overhead frame is usually the most reusable asset an organizer walks away with. A clean aerial of a packed lawn becomes the hero image for the recap, the sponsor report, and next year's promotion. I plan the flight around those few defining shots so they get captured while the moment is still happening.
Built for Greater Charlotte events
Charlotte hosts everything from outdoor weddings and big private parties to grand openings, tournaments, and community festivals, and most venues around here photograph beautifully from above. I tailor coverage to the venue, the schedule, and the story you want the footage to tell.
Flying near crowds takes real planning. I operate under FAA Part 107, carry full insurance, and coordinate flight paths around people, structures, and airspace ahead of time. You run the event. I handle the air.
Edited footage with fast turnaround
You get finished work, not a card dump. I color grade the stills, cut the video, and hand back files ready to post, present, or pass to a designer. The aerials are shot to cut cleanly with your ground coverage, so they drop straight into recap reels and social clips.
Speed matters here more than anywhere. A recap shared two days after the event rides the momentum. One shared three weeks later is a museum piece. I edit fast so your aerials land while people are still talking.
Planning and site sense, built in
My background is landscape design and site planning, and it shows up at events. I read the grounds ahead of time, figure out where the action and the best compositions will be, and time flights around peak moments instead of hoping to catch them by chance. Coverage ends up feeling intentional, not improvised.

How it works
- 01Plan the shot list and timing
We walk through your schedule, the venue, and the moments that matter most. I map flights around peak activity and the angles that tell the story.
- 02Confirm compliance and logistics
I review the airspace, coordinate with the venue, and plan safe flight paths around people and structures. Part 107 certified, fully insured.
- 03Capture on event day
I fly during the key windows we picked, shooting wide establishing frames and moving aerials while the event is at its best.
- 04Edit and deliver fast
I color grade and cut the footage into finished stills and video, then get your aerials back quickly so you can share them right away.
Event Aerial Coverage FAQ
What areas do you cover for event drone work?
I cover events throughout the Greater Charlotte area. Send me the venue and date and I'll confirm I can serve the location.
Are you licensed and insured to fly at events?
Yes. I'm FAA Part 107 certified and fully insured, and I plan every flight for safe, compliant operation around people and structures.
What do I actually receive after the event?
Everything shows up edited and ready: color-graded aerial stills and a highlight video you can post, present, or hand off. You won't be left sorting through raw clips.
How fast will I get my footage?
Events lose steam fast, so I prioritize getting finished aerials back while people are still talking about it. Exact timing depends on scope, which we'll confirm up front.
Can drone footage be combined with ground-level video?
Yes. I shoot and grade the aerials to cut cleanly with ground coverage, so they slot into recap reels, marketing pieces, and social content without looking bolted on.
How do I book event coverage?
Email shane@sqoskyworks.com or call (704) 783-6767 with your event date, venue, and the kind of coverage you have in mind, and I'll plan the flight from there.
